A Day in the Forest
Today we went hiking from 10 to 3 o’clock. We saw many
beautiful things and landscapes.
Our guide showed us two holes in a tree trunk made by a
black woodpecker. The bigger hole was the nest and we think it uses the smaller
hole to put pine cones in to be able to eat the seeds.
Just before sitting down to have our picnic, the guide told
us a story about a seaweed and a mushroom that « got married » (a
word used in the story to mean that they had a symbiotic relationship) and created
what is called « lichen » (which is a growth of algae and fungus).
Cette journée s'est terminée par une veillée dans le kota : nous avons dansé sur une chanson russe puis nous avons écouté un conte. Pour finir, nous avons grillé des chamallows ! Et nous sommes rentrés le nez dans les étoiles !
